Leaders

Today is President's Day.

I don't want to begin to get into my political views. Everyone is entitled to their own. But today I DO want to say thank you... not to any specific man, and not for any specific title that he may have had... today I want to celebrate leadership.

leader (n.) defined as: 1. One who leads or guides. 2. One who is in charge or in command of others. 3. One who heads a political party or organization. One who has influence or power, especially of political nature.

Whether President or not, a leader must have passion. Good leaders don't just lead, they care. They have more than a spark, its a fire burning within. They are committed... their body, mind, and spirit are engaged. Leaders have an openness to possibilities and the innate belief that people want to work together to create the best future imaginable. Leaders are authentic. Leaders are not perfect. Leaders sometimes fail. Leaders admit their shortcomings to themselves, they recognize their strengths, and they live as who they are. Leaders have ethics. They have at the center of their belief a regard for human worth and dignity. They make decisions based on deeply held values and beliefs. Leaders are servants... dedicated to the service of others. Leaders lead. They don't lead to be followed, they lead because they are called to lead.

Thank you to all the past and present leaders of this country.
God Bless America.
